The Interfaith Welcome Coalition picks up immigrants from the detention center and offers them shelter until they can travel to live with family or their immigration cases are heard. The Coalition will also greet immigrants at the bus station to help facilitate travel and offer any needed services. Link: raicestexas.org

Two private prison industry giants -- Nashville, Tennessee-based Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and the GEO Group of Boca Raton, Florida -- manage the Texas facilities.
